80's Christmas Party

Posted by Rachel Sunday, December 11, 2011

It's Christmas season which means lots of treats, parties, friends and family. Also lots of trying to avoid traffic, malls, and pretty much all masses of people, something about the holidays especially in the stores makes people nuts!

So this year our work Christmas parties were pretty fun. Adobe rented out a hall up in Salt Lake and had a retro 80's Christmas celebration. It was pretty cool, they had a Mr. T impersonator who was pretty awesome (so good in fact he convinced one of Michael's co-workers he was really Mr. T and he was so convinced he actually contacted the party coordinator to prove to everyone it was really Mr. T haha), they flew in an 80's cover band from L.A. complete with red leather suits and all (they were great but I'm pretty sure I lost a lot of hearing that night, so loud!), and they had all these classic arcade and board games all around for you to play. The highlight of the night was a dance competition. They opened the floor up to everyone and slowly picked people to continue to the next rounds until they were down to the final three, Michael's supervisor dressed up as Michael Jackson, including the glitter glove (his even lit up). In the final round he had to do a solo dance and the guy rocked it, but about half way through doing the moonwalk he ripped his pants all the way up his leg, in true Michael Jackson form he just kept dancing which was so funny to see. He actually ended up winning the whole competition. It was a fun night!

For my work Christmas party we were supposed to go snowmobiling up at the Sundance Resort and then have dinner at one of the resort restaurants. We seem to be having an extremely warm weather and still have no snow which is nuts since it usually snows from October to May here in Utah. We had to cancel the snowmobiling which was disappointing, I've always wanted to go and have never been, but it's hard to go without any snow on the ground. So we just had dinner up at the resort's restaurant. It was amazing food! I always love these Christmas dinners because Scott will take us out to these nice 5 star restaurants that we could never afford to eat at. The steak was really delicious and we had a lot of fun.

Now on to more holiday fun. We are heading to Ohio to celebrate with Michael's family this year. It should be fun. Merry Christmas everyone!
