Merry Christmas!

Every year since we've been married we rotate who's house we go to for Christmas. Since both our families live on the East coast it is impossible for us to try to see them both in the same year without getting insanely expensive or without us spending the majority of our vacation traveling. Each year before we go we always have our little family Christmas together. It is definitely one of my favorite times of the year! This year we celebrated on the 22nd. I took a half day at work to begin our vacation and we finished some last minute Christmas shopping then came home to celebrate. It is always hard shopping for Michael because he usually wants tech stuff which I can't buy for him because I have no idea what models, specs, or basically any technical detail to try to get him the right thing. If I'm going to spend that money I definitely want to make sure it's the right thing. I did get him a graphics card, well he had to buy it, but other than that I wanted his presents to be a surprise. I usually take forever to come up with a great idea for him but this year I was so proud I was able to come out with two ideas really quickly and he had no clue what they were! I got him a baseball bat (which I wrapped up in an old curtain rod box which was long and huge and he was dying to figure out what it was).
The other present was this game Mindtrap that he always talks about playing when he was growing up but we can never find or it's used, or too expensive, etc. He was definitely surprised and loved his gifts. I love when that happens! He was also really great at surprising me with my presents this year. He got me a pair of winter gloves (these I actually knew about because we found them together at Macey's), a winter hat which is really cute, and a Kindle which I was completely surprised about because I've never even mentioned wanting one. It was a great Christmas.

We also opened the presents my parents mailed us and our little girl got more than we did! They bought her these absolutely adorable Virginia Tech Hokie onesies and a matching zip-up sweatshirt and some toys. My Mom also had mailed me a box of things she's been collecting for us ever since she found out I was pregnant. They were wonderful gifts and our baby is definitely going to be one spoiled little girl. My Dad had my name this year and he got me this beautiful Willow Tree statue of a husband and his pregnant wife. I love it and put it on the bookshelf right away.
you'll have to tell me how you like your Kindle, I'm curious about them. I love that your baby girl will have football stuff. Awesome1
